Online MBA Specializations
The Online MBA at Chico State features two specializations for students who have a clearly defined career path in mind and the practical vision to make it a reality. By selecting an MBA specialization in Enterprise Information Systems (also called management information systems) or Project Management, you can prepare yourself for certification exams in each of these fields and to thrive in the roles to which they lead.
Enterprise Information Systems
The Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) specialization is designed to qualify you for a rapidly expanding management information systems role and helps prepare you to take the SAP TS410 certification exam. Build the knowledge and skills that can lead to a role as a professional consultant, business process analyst, IT infrastructure specialist, or SAP functional analyst.
Our management information systems courses have been selected to prepare you to effectively utilize the SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and to help you develop a deep understanding of its logic and its role in managing processes and logistics. The EIS specialization not only prepares you to obtain this specific professional credential, but trains you in data management and IT processes and tools that are applicable across numerous different roles. EIS specialization courses cover strategic information systems management, security and privacy issues in IT, business intelligence, and data warehousing.
The EIS specialization sets students up for a pathway to sit for the TS410 certification exam.* Successful completion of the TS410 is a gateway to abundant and lucrative management information systems career opportunities. It demonstrates not only your commitment to business education, but also your desire to go above and beyond a conventional MBA to earn this designation.
Chico State is proud to offer this pathway to a targeted, lucrative career goal.
*TS410 certification is not offered directly by Chico State. This certification typically involves taking a certification course and then sitting for the certification exam.
The Project Management (PRMG) specialization provides the in-demand skills and knowledge required to succeed as a project manager in any organization. Students who select this specialization learn how to efficiently and effectively initiate, plan, execute, manage, and monitor projects while optimizing organizational goals. Students who complete the Online MBA with the Project Management specialization will be prepared to sit for either the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification exam.
Savvy organizations are investing in project management talent to ensure they operate smoothly and efficiently in today’s complex, rapidly evolving industries. While the PMP is more highly regarded than the CAPM due to the higher amount of project management work experience it requires, both certifications are key indicators for employers that you have received elite training in the intricacies of the profession. The PRMG specialization features an in-depth seminar in project management, as well as courses in optimizing project goals and outcomes and in conflict resolution, negotiation, and teamwork.
The smartest employers know that certified project managers deliver more projects on time, on budget, and on track with the organization’s goals.
With a recent pass rate of 100 percent on these qualifying exams, well above the national average, Chico State can put you in the driver’s seat for these high-impact roles.
