Online MBA GRE/GMAT Waiver Requirements

NOTE: Due to testing center closures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, California State University, Chico will be waiving the GRE/GMAT requirement for all Online MBA applicants through the spring 2021 term. Students applying to the Online MBA program for the fall 2020 and spring 2021 terms do not need to request a waiver for these exams.

Chico State is happy to offer GRE and GMAT waivers to applicants who demonstrate their readiness for our Online MBA program through their professional and/or academic accomplishments.

While we do believe that entrance exams are useful metrics for evaluating candidates for our Online MBA program, we also know they do not tell the whole story about everyone who will succeed in it.

To apply for the GRE/GMAT waiver, you must:

  1. Meet all of the following conditions:
    • A bachelor's degree from an accredited school
    • A Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
    • Quantitative skills and managerial experience as evidenced by two or more years of work experience

OR

  1. Possess a completed graduate degree (e.g., master’s, JD, MD, PhD, etc.)
